Hackthorne Garden is a place filled with memories. Standing here for over a century, it holds countless stories within its walls. In 1928, architect William… designed this elegant mansion for lawyer Antony, creating a refined architectural style that continues to endure today. Over time, Hackthorne Garden has become an important chapter in the history of the Cashmere Hills, a shining presence within the area’s rich heritage.
Former mayor Bob Parker, who witnessed part of Hackthorne Garden’s history, recalls, “Growing up, my family and I lived down the hill. I made many friends there and spent countless hours riding past this beautiful house perched on the hillside. It’s truly a pleasure to step inside this building today after all these years. Hackthorne Garden now embarks on a new journey.”
Today, Hackthorne Garden has been thoughtfully reimagined as a private, members-style guest house. The owners are delighted to share this historic home with guests from around the world, inviting them not simply to stay, but to experience life within its walls.
As a guest house, Hackthorne Garden offers a self-guided, home-like experience, where guests are free to enjoy the shared public spaces of the house while also retreating to their own private rooms. Here, privacy, space, and comfort come together, creating a stay that feels both refined and deeply personal – just like coming home.
More than a place to stay, Hackthorne Gardens is a living piece of history – a historic gem meant to be experienced, shared, and remembered. Step into the garden, feel the gentle breeze, and look out over the city lights below. In this quiet moment, time slows, and a sense of calm gently settles in.
Welcome home. Welcome to Hackthorne Garden.
