Former mayor Bob Parker, who witnessed part of Hackthorne Garden’s history, recalls, “Growing up, my family and I lived down the hill. I made many friends there and spent hours riding past this beautiful house perched on the hillside. It’s truly a pleasure to step inside this building today after all these years.  Hackthorne Garden now embarks on a new journey.”

Today, Hackthorne Garden has been transformed into a luxurious hotel, *Hackthorne Garden Luxury Hotel*, welcoming guests from around the world. In 2018, Hackthorne Gardens earned the Culture and Tourism Award, solidifying its status as a celebrated landmark in Christchurch.
